Marketing isn’t about making things up. It’s about uncovering what makes a brand relevant to people and getting the word out there in a way that resonates with them.

I started my career as an art director at Simons Michelson, Zieve in Troy Michigan creating retail ads for tire stores, furniture retailers and a Big Boy franchise. It taught me how to work hard, work fast and work smart. And it taught me that big ideas don’t have to rely on big budgets. From there I moved down the street and up the ladder to Young & Rubicam, learning the ropes from some original madmen, working on Lincoln Mercury and Uniroyal Tire. Then, after a stint in direct marketing at Wunderman Worldwide where I learned to build real consumer relationships for Science Diet Pet Food and AAA Insurance, I headed to Campbell Ewald, Los Angeles to do some serious brand-building. I helped put love in the love boat for Princess Cruises, made DirecTV a household name, got people back where they belong for Farmers Insurance, gave millions of women moments of timeless pleasure via Ghirardelli Chocolate, and ultimately encouraged people all over the country to thrive as the Los Angeles creative director on Kaiser Permanente.

Whether I attack an assignment on my own, team up with a partner or lead the amazingly talented people I find in this business, my goal is the same – develop breakthrough creative solutions that enhance your brand and motivate your audience to act.
